The Rolls Royce Phantom series is the flagship product of Rolls Royce automobiles. The first generation Phantom was launched in 1925 and has gone through eight generations of products. The first generation of the Rolls Royce Phantom I was introduced in 1925 and developed under highly confidential circumstances, with the project code name "Eastern Armored Vehicle". On the surface, Rolls Royce intended to develop a military vehicle with armor plate components scattered around the factory. At that time, Rolls Royce only produced a drivable chassis. The first generation Phantom adopts a front wheel drive layout and is equipped with a 7.6-liter inline 6-cylinder engine.

The Ford Thunderbird is a personal luxury sedan manufactured by Ford from 1977 to 1979. In the key marketing shift of this model series, Ford repackaged the Thunderbird from a full-size sedan to a mid size sedan and gave its full-size luxury coupe status to the Ford Continental Landau coupe. This generation of Thunderbird models no longer share the same platform as the Ford Continental Mark V model, but instead shared the chassis with the Mercury Cougar and Ford LTD II before the launch of the Ford Focus platform in 1980.
